





Each semester Student Linx offers a number of leadership positions to current students. These positions allow students to develop their leadership skills whilst contributing to making Griffith University a more enjoyable and inclusive place to study.

Griffith Mates (previously GI Mates) assist in the delivery of international orientation by providing student support services and delivering social activities. In doing so, Griffith Mates aim to provide new students with a memorable first experience of life in Australia and at Griffith University. Griffith Mates are also required to assist with Student Linx events throughout the semester.
Buddies offer weekly social and English language support and guidance to a group of international students (mentees) during their transition to life in Australia. Buddies offer a source of knowledge and experience that is invaluable to international students from non-English speaking backgrounds.
Buddies and mentees meet on campus for an hour each week. This weekly meeting gives mentees a chance to:

Sporting captains lead a culturally diverse team through Griffith University's social sporting competitions. Sporting captains are responsible for recruiting local and international students, conducting pre-season training and committing to the entire season.

Student Linx requires language instructors to lead our Language Exchange sessions. Language instructors are fluent in the languages listed below and are interested in helping other students practice their conversation skills in a social setting.

Volunteer leaders guide diverse groups of students on environmental conservation fieldwork activities in the local community. Leaders are required for Student Linx's Beach Care and Bush Care events. Opportunities are also available for non-conservation activities such as community event volunteering.
