Classes at GELI are held in the morning (8:15am – 12:45pm) and afternoon (1pm – 5:30pm). Students need to attend only one class a day and so have plenty of free time to participate in other GELI activities such as social events, games club, independent learning, book club etc.
Students receive 20 hours of face-to-face teaching per week and are expected to complete at least five hours of independent learning per week. Class sizes at GELI are small with only 15-18 students per class. This allows students to receive personal attention from their teachers and progress quickly through their English language studies.
Students are placed into classes on the basis of numbers of students and class levels. Students who wish to change from a morning or afternoon class will need to find another student who wishes to swap with them. Both students will need to discuss this with the Assistant Director of Studies (ADOS) to process the swap.
