Mount Tamborine - August 2011
Students jumped for joy during a day trip to Mt. Tamborine in the gorgeous Gold Coast hinterland. Activities included a rainforest walk past waterfalls and rock pools and a visit to a local art gallery.

Tennis - August 2011
Students enjoyed a free game of tennis at our Mt Gravatt campus. GELI offers a wide range of sporting activities for students to participate in including soccer, basketball, volleyball, badminton, cricket and much more.

Great Barrier Reef - October 2011
GELI students having fun on a three day adventure to the beautiful Great Barrier Reef. Activities included snorkeling, a glass-bottom boat ride and guided tours of the tropical rainforest.

Surfing - November 2011
Surfers Paradise is THE place to learn how to surf! Students received an important talk on beach safety before learning how to stand up on their surfboards and catch a wave.

Cooking Club - February 2012
In the February GELI Cooking Club, students learnt how to cook lamingtons, a traditional Australian sweet treat. The best part was getting to eat them!

Burleigh Nature Walk - March 2012
Students enjoyed a nature walk through the beautiful Burleigh Heads rainforest before having a BBQ sausage sizzle and a friendly game of beach volleyball by the water.

Wildlife Sanctuary - March 2012
During a day trip to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary students were able to see native Australian animals including emu’s and crocodiles, cuddle a koala and feed kangaroos!

Dragon Boating - March 2012
It was another beautiful, sunny day on the Gold Coast when a large group of students got into the team spirit and learnt how to dragon boat on the Nerang river.

Byron Bay - April 2012
GELI students on a day trip to nearby Byron Bay, known for its beautiful beaches, spectacular ocean views, lighthouse, markets and relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Easter Morning Tea - April 2012
To celebrate Easter, GELI students were invited to a free morning tea celebration where they enjoyed sampling hot cross buns and entering the Easter egg decorating competition!
