Life in Australia Health cover
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
If you apply for a student visa you are required to have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the time you are here.
Your payment for Overseas Student Health Cover should be made together with tuition fees. Your eCoE (electronic Confirmation of Enrolment) will confirm that the Overseas Student Health Cover has been paid.
GELI will arrange your OSHC for you.
Fees
You will need to pay for Overseas Student Health Cover for the duration of your course. You can use the OSHC calculator to work out how much it will cost.
Special notice for Norwegian students
Following discussions between representatives of the governments of Norway and Australia, it has been agreed that Norwegian students studying in Australian educational institutions will in future be covered by the Norwegian National Insurance Scheme, instead of the previously required OSHC scheme.
