What is IELTS4grads?

The IELTS4grads program offers an Academic IELTS test at half the normal fee to Griffith University students who are completing, or have recently completed, a full degree program. All the standard IELTS test procedures and policies apply. The only difference is that the university will cover 50% of the test fee for Griffith University students who meet certain criteria and who complete a short survey questionnaire.

IELTS4grads may only be claimed once per degree.

IELTS4grads places are limited and are available only on the  specific test dates listed below. You must advise at time of application that you are an IELTS4grads candidate.

Which versions of the test can I take?

You must take the IELTS Academic test.

When can I take the test?

You may take the Academic module IELTS test once you have completed your studies and have a conferral date.  The following test dates are available for 2013 IELTS4grads participants:

27 July 2013

24 August 2013

7 December 2013

Places are limited and can fill quickly – remember to book as soon as possible once you have your proof of completion date.

Where can I take the test?

IELTS4grads only applies to tests at the Griffith IELTS Test Centre, Mt Gravatt.

What are the criteria for IELTS4grads eligibility?

To be eligible for IELTS4grads, you must be able to show that you have met the study requirements for completing your degree program.

You will need to present one of the following documents showing your completion date (also known as your “conferral date”):

  • A print-out from the Griffith Portal of your graduation status page showing that you are conditionally approved or approved for graduation. (The graduation status page becomes available to completing students at the end of week 12 of their final semester.)
  • A Letter of Completion from Student Administration (costs around $10).
  • A print-out from the Griffith Portal of your unofficial transcript showing your degree conferral date.
  • Degree testamur (your degree certificate) - must be the original or a certified copy.

Please note:
your completion of studies/conferral date may be different to your graduation date. Students who defer their graduation ceremony may have their completion and graduation dates in different semesters. IELTS4grads eligibility is based on your completion of studies/conferral date.

You must advise at time of application that you are an IELTS4grads candidate.

When can I claim IELTS4grads?

IELTS4grads is claimed as a 50% test fee reduction at the time of applying for the test.

Students who have received confirmation of completion before booking the IELTS test will be eligible to claim the IELTS4grads 50% test fee reduction upfront when applying for the test.

You must advise at time of application that you are an IELTS4grads candidate.

What is the survey data used for?

The survey information and your test score from IELTS4grads will be used for educational research purposes.

Do I need to complete the normal IELTS test application form?

All IELTS4grads candidates must complete the standard IELTS test application form, this includes completing a Griffith University GST & Declaration form, presenting your passport as identification and providing two passport size photographs. Please read through the information on the Griffith IELTS website about the test application process.
