Student advisors

GELI has dedicated International Student Advisors who are specially trained to provide 
assistance and advice to international language students.

GELI student advisors can help you:

• If you want to cancel your enrolment or to take a leave of absence
• If you are finding it difficult settling into life in Australia
• If you are having difficulty meeting course attendance requirements
• Seek advice regarding your visa
• If you need advice about your pathway to further study
• If you would like someone to talk to university staff on your behalf
• If other problems are affecting your ability to study eg health, social or personal problems
• If you are unable to pay your tuition fees on time or are experiencing financial hardship
• When you’re not sure what to do or who to talk to
• Seek information about your local community eg who to contact for different issues
• Report instances of racism, sexism, harassment or discrimination

Additional Support

At GELI, we provide all students with dedicated student support. If you experience any 
problems during your studies at GELI we can give you advice on what to do. Everyone who 
works at GELI will be happy to help you. We have created a list of people to see for common 
issues to make it even easier for you.
