GELI Excellence Awards

The GELI Excellence Awards are designed to reward students for their participation and contribution while studying at GELI. GELI Excellence Award Winners receive AUD $1,000 and an iPad3. The winner is announced in week two of the five week study period. All GELI students (excluding Griffith UniPrep and Aviation English) are able to apply for the award every 5 weeks.


The GELI Excellence Awards recognise students who are:

  • Progressing well in their studies
  • Attending 95% or more of their classes
  • Participating in GELI social activities
  • Undertaking independent learning activities
  • Active on the GELI Facebook Page
  • Attending Book Club

Why did you choose to study at GELI?
The university which I belong to recommended to come to GELI and I thought the facilities and the education system were suitable for my needs. 

Tell us about GELI's social activities.
GELI's social activities are very good opportunities to meet lots of people and make friends, which helps us to practice our English language skills. 

What is the best thing about studying at GELI? 
The independent study functions on the computers are quite helpful to improve our English skills. 

What advice would you give to students applying for the GELI Excellence Award?
I can just advise students to participate in GELI's social activities and spend plenty of time in the Independent Learning Centre (ILC).

Would you recommend GELI to other international students?
Yes I will, because I've found it fun to study English in GELI due to the many friends I've made here and my kind teachers.
