GELI Excellence Awards

The GELI Excellence Awards are designed to reward students for their participation and contribution while studying at GELI. GELI Excellence Award Winners receive AUD $1,000 and an iPad2. The winner is announced in week two of the five week study period. All GELI students (excluding Griffith UniPrep and Aviation English) are able to apply for the award every 5 weeks.


The GELI Excellence Awards recognise students who are:

 

  • Progressing well in their studies
  • Attending 95% or more of their classes
  • Participating in GELI social activities
  • Undertaking independent learning activities
  • Active on the GELI Facebook Page
  • Attending Book Club

January 2012 GELI Excellence Award Winner - Wendy Carrillo

Wendy moved to Australia from Venezuela with her husband in August 2011. Before coming to Australia, she previously studied in Venezuela where she completed her MBA.

Wendy is currently completing English for Academic Purposes at GELI on the Gold Coast and plans to complete her Masters in Marketing at Griffith University.

Wendy’s teachers say she represents everything that is GELI. She has an excellent attendance record, actively uses the ILC, regularly attends book club, often participates in GELI activities, works hard and is a very motivated student.

She will no doubt achieve her long-term goal of returning to Venezuela and using the knowledge she has gained during her studies to start and manage a business with her husband.
