
1. Choose your test date from those available on the IELTS Test dates page of this website. We do not have a waiting list, so you must apply for an available test.
2. Read the Information for Candidates booklet (PDF 92K).
3. Complete an application pack. Incomplete applications will not be accepted under any circumstances. Your application must include:
Applications must be made in person at the address below and are processed on a first-come first-served basis. This centre does not accept applications by post. Applications close when the test is full.
Office hours: 9am – 12 noon and 1pm – 4pm Monday to Friday.
Please note our office is closed from 12 noon – 1pm daily.
4. After your application is accepted, you will be given a cashier form to pay by cash, EFTPOS or credit card at the university cashier. Cheques and money orders can only be accepted if they are made payable to "Griffith University". Your test date will be confirmed once you have submitted your completed application, paid the fee and returned the receipt.
5. You will be sent a confirmation letter by email four weeks before your test date with all the test day information. Please read this letter very carefully.
6. Thirteen days after your test, your results will be posted to the address in Australia provided on your application form. You can not collect your results in person. Provisional results can also be viewed online 13 days after the test. If you require your results to be posted overseas, you must supply an addressed and stamped international envelope before or on test day.
Any enquiries about your results must be made in person within six weeks of your exam date. You will need your passport, receipt and original Test Results Form.
If you cancel more than five weeks before your test, you will be charged a cancellation fee of 25%.
If you cancel within five weeks of the exam date, you will not receive a refund. However, please inform us that you will not be attending.
Within five weeks of the test, the exam fee is NON-REFUNDABLE unless satisfactory evidence of serious illness or serious cause eg. bereavement or trauma is provided.
A Request for Refund form can be collected from the IELTS Reception. This form must be lodged no later than 5 working days after the exam date, together with appropriate documentation and/or evidence in English (e.g. hospitalisation report, death certificate or police report).
Transfers must be requested in person more than five weeks before the original test date and be for an available test in the next three months.
If you transfer more than five weeks before your test a transfer fee of $75 (excl. GST) will be charged.
